Should I visit?

Yes, please! We’d love to welcome you to our sanctuary. A Sunday morning worship service is the best time to visit our church. Worship starts at 10:00 a.m. with a Call to Worship. Some folks come early, some at the last second, and others dribble in late.

What should I wear?

Be yourself. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and prepares your heart for worship. For some people, they like wearing their “Sunday Best” because it marks the day as meaningful for them. For others, they like wearing casual clothing because nothing is more distracting than a stiff shirt or itchy sweater. You be you and we’ll be glad you’re with us!

Is there coffee?

Of course. Our pastor can’t make it through the morning without coffee either. Coffee is available in the back fellowship area.

How will I know what to do?

We have bulletins with the order of worship printed so you’ll know what happens next. You can read ahead or just sit back and experience the service. Our service is usually about 1 hour.

What kind of music is there?

We sing from hymnals, old songs, new songs, all kinds of worshipful music. We often have a choir, or ensemble or soloist. We like when the congregation sings together and fills the room with joyful noise. Accompaniment is often played with our Yamaha grand piano or our pipe organ. Our style is Old Skool, like those sneakers, but isn’t Old Skool cool again? We think so!

Is there nursery or childcare?

Yes. We have nursery available during the service for little ones age Infant - 5 years old. Some families like to have their kiddos stay with them in the pews and that’s totally fine. We don’t mind hearing a little side chatter. And we have activity packs available with the ushers if your children want to color or draw or play in the pew.

Are you theologically conservative or progressive?

We hope to be welcoming of all. We have people of faith from all different backgrounds, ages, and beliefs. We believe God is beyond the polarities of current culture and that the reconciling grace of Jesus should draw us near to one another in our differences. Which means some of us are Reformed (RCA or CRC), some of us are baptist, some of us are Lutheran, some of us are Evangelical, some of us are Roman Catholic, some of us are Anglican, or some of us are nothing and just seeking with open minds and hearts, all of which means that whoever you are, you are welcome here. We hope to join you on your journey of faith, wherever that may lead you. The faith of this church is a mosaic, and each of us contribute our true selves to the story that is being told here. So if you visit, we hope you’ll notice our liturgy and theology speaks to you. But because we’re a diverse community, there may be elements of worship you’re not familiar with, and we hope you can understand that someone different from you may appreciate that because it speaks to them.

Do you preach the Gospel?

Yes. You’ll hear the good news of Jesus at this church — that in Christ the sinners are forgiven, the broken made well, the lame healed, and the poor blessed. This is a place of grace and peace, of authentic love.
